Sir Derek Jacobi is getting married to his long-term partner.

The ‘Murder on the Orient’ express actor has been in a relationship with Richard Clifford for 40 years, and after entering a civil partnership in 2005, they are planning to tie the knot now that same-sex marriage is legal.

Derek said of their plans: “We are doing it because we want to.

“There’s no public reason. We love each other and we want to.

“We’re great friends, we support each other, whatever I’ve lacked he provides and vice versa. We just get on.”

The 79-year-old actor believes the key to his long relationship with Richard is humour.

He said: “A sense of humour is essential. You stay much healthier if you can laugh.

“A sense of end-up and not taking things too seriously, seeing the funny side of things… It’s a great help because it makes one less pompous, it takes the pomposity out of everything.”

The ‘Breaking the Code’ actor has known he was gay from a very young age, but never had any problems accepting his sexuality.

He told Gay Times magazine: “I knew I was different. I knew that as soon as I became a thinking creature.

“That to me was the deck I’d been dealt. That was fine. I accepted it and carried on.

“I didn’t fight against it. I accepted it and took what it offered.”

And Derek remembered feeling “relief” when homosexuality was part decriminalised in 1967.

He recalled: “I suppose like everybody I felt relief. I felt a sense of relaxation, of not having to be wary, a sense of acceptance of being part of the whole, which I hadn’t been before. I knew what I was and who I was.

“All my friends and family knew and that was it, you know.

“I suppose when it became legitimate that I could join the bigger family, that was a great relief and a great comfort.”

Kourtney Kardashian’s first date with Younes Bendjima saw him act as translator after Kim Kardashian West was robbed at gunpoint.

The 38-year-old reality star initially thought the 24-year-old hunk “hated” her and her younger sister when they met in a club in Paris in October 2016, but when she confronted him about his rudeness, they quickly got together.

Speaking on ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’, her sister Khloe Kardashian asked: “You met him in Paris when you were with Kim for fashion week?”

Kourtney replied: “Yeah, we like walked into a bar and Stephanie [Sheppard] was across from me and she kept going, ‘This guy’s cute over here.’

“He was friends with our friends. He would walk in, say hi, shake hands with like our security or whatever, but like not say hi to us. And then I was like, ‘Why do you hate us?’ I was just drunk. Once I said that he literally like grabbed my hand and was like, ‘It’s five in the morning. We’re leaving. And then next night Younes was like, ‘Bring your ass here.’ “

Asked if she likes him to be “aggressive”, Kourtney said: “Yeah.”

But when the pair arrived at a nightclub together, their evening was disrupted when Kourtney received a phone call to tell her about her 37-year-old sister’s terrifying ordeal in their Paris apartment, which saw her tied up while armed thieves made off with millions of dollars worth of jewellery.

Younes – who was born in Algeria and splits his time living between Paris and New York – immediately vowed to do whatever he could to help.

Kourtney added: “And then when we walked into that club was when we went to the bathroom and got the phone call about Kim. So then the party was over. And then he was like, ‘I’m not leaving you guys,’ and he like had to translate everything.”

Khloe said: “I heard Kim say he was the translator.”

Elsewhere on the show, Kourtney insisted she’s stopped worrying about the partying antics of her former partner Scott Disick, the father of her kids Mason, seven, Penelope, five, and two-year-old Reign, who she split from over two years ago.

She said: “The energy I put into him, I need to put into my kids and I need to distance myself. And just say, you know what, you as a 34-year-old father of three, you’ve got to know what to do at this point.”

After Frustration, Marriage: Patton Oswalt Ties the Knot

Patton Oswalt and Meredith Salenger have tied the knot. (Jaguar PS /

Patton Oswalt has had a rough couple of years.

The actor and comedian made headlines last summer when he announced his engagement to actress Meredith Salenger (The Journey of Natt Gann) because it closely followed—by a little over a year—the sudden death of his wife Michelle McNamara.

The widower publicly discussed his grief, detailing his struggle to overcome tragedy in elaborate, beautifully-expressive Facebook posts—beautifully expressive Facebook posts which did not deter public commentary on his engagement to Salenger.

The eventual result of this process was the release of Patton Oswalt: Annihilation on Netflix, a critically-acclaimed stand-up show in which Patton discusses grief…and last night’s marriage to Salenger, with his daughter, Alice, at his side.

Congratulations, Patton Oswalt. Who needs the haters?

Oswalt’s late wife Michelle McNamara was an astute, committed true crime writer, a highly talented amateur investigator who brought the East Area Rapist/Original Night Stalker—the man she called “the Golden State Killer”—to public attention. The anxiety that the case gave her eventually lead to the sleeping pills she was taking, which proved fatal when mixed with an undiagnosed heart condition. You can read some of her work on the case here; an encyclopedia on the case can be at the Coldcase EARONS website.

Former couple Yolanda Hadid and David Foster have finalized their divorce.

The 53-year-old television personality and 67-year-old musician’s marriage was officially dissolved Oct. 16, according to court documents obtained by The Blast.

E! News reported Hadid and Foster reached an agreement about spousal support and attorney fees, which Hadid had requested in her original divorce filing. The pair also settled the terms of their property division.

Hadid, who shares son Anwar and daughters Gigi and Bella with first husband Mohamed Hadid, had announced her split from Foster in November 2015 after four years of marriage and nine years together.

“Sadly we have decided to go our separate ways,” the star said at the time. “We’ve shared nine beautiful and joyous years together and during that time we experienced love, friendship, and the inevitable challenges that come with managing a marriage, careers, blended families and health issues.”

“We are grateful for the years we’ve spent together and believe wholeheartedly that we did our best,” she added. “I hope that we can pave the road ahead of us with all we’ve learned and with the love and respect we will always have for one another.”

Foster appears to have moved on with actress Katharine McPhee, according to TMZ. The pair were spotted getting close Sunday in Los Angeles, with McPhee touching Foster’s behind and kissing the musician on the cheek during an ATM withdrawal.

The couple are said to be keen to renew their vows in front of friends, family and celebrity guests, including Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness, Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, Pink and Julia Roberts.

Kate Winslet says she “never fancied” Titanic co-star Leonardo DiCaprio.

The 41-year-old British actress denied she ever had a crush on the 42-year-old American actor while appearing on Tuesday’s episode of Lorraine.

“Luckily, and this is the fortunate thing, we never fancied each other,” Winslet told host Lorraine Kelly. “I know that’s really annoying to hear, but we really never did.”

“It did mean that we were just able to have this [friendship] and be able to tease each other, which we still do,” she added. “It’s really amazing.”

Winslet said she and DiCaprio formed a long-lasting friendship as they played ill-fated lovers Rose Bukater and Jack Dawson in the 1996 movie.

“We did [click]. I think for Leo and I, it was seven months of very intense work. We were both really very young,” she reflected.

Winslet previously discussed her friendship with DiCaprio in the October issue of Glamour U.K., telling the magazine she remains “very close” pals with the actor.

“You don’t even want to know the last conversation we had, because it was so funny and made me laugh so much,” the actress gushed. “We found ourselves saying to each other, ‘Can you imagine if the world really knew the stupid things we say?'”

“I’m not going to tell you what we actually talk about, but yeah, we’re very, very close and sometimes we do quote the odd Titanic line back and forth to each other, because only we can, and we find it really funny,” she shared.
